In half a century, the seaweed harvester’s trade has changed beyond recognition. The motorisation of the boats, the invention of the scoubidou and then its mechanisation turned a manual, back-breaking harvest into a regulated activity, scientifically monitored — and a far more solitary one. This tour follows that shift, right through to the seaweed harvesters of today.
